Qtel unveils new BlackBerry
Doha

The BlackBerry Bold 9700

Qatar Telecom (Qtel), a leading telecom services provider in Qatar, has launched a new addition to its BlackBerry family of products – the BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone.

In addition to built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, rich multimedia capabilities and access to music, games and other mobile applications – the Bold 9700 also provides customers with the industry’s leading mobile e-mail and messaging solution.

Its top-line performance, functionality and features work best with Qtel’s advanced 3G HSDPA network, ensuring that business and consumer customers get the most out of the advanced new Smartphone, a statement said.

“This new model is one of the most attractive in the market for businesses and individuals, particularly with the unmatched connectivity of its mobile e-mail and messaging solutions,” said Khalid Abdulla Al Mansouri, executive director, business solutions, Qtel.

“Qtel has invested significantly in enhancing its HSDPA network, to ensure that when top-of-the-line devices like the BlackBerry Bold 9700 become available, our customers receive full benefit.”

“The enhanced mobility offered by the BlackBerry Bold 9700 will fuel a sense of confidence in Qatar’s business community, since executives can stay on top of their communication wherever they are in Qatar,” he added.

The new BlackBerry Bold 9700 features a touch-sensitive Trackpad allowing for highly responsive navigation, BlackBerry Push-technology, a 3.2 MP camera with variable zoom, auto focus, flash and video recording, enhanced music playback time, improved Gmail integration, and an extended battery life with a standby time of up to17 days and talk time of up to 6 hours, the statement added.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes in vivid colours and its powerful capacity makes it easier to use e-mail, messaging, surf the internet and share media on popular sites like Facebook and MySpace.

As well as its Enterprise Service, Qtel also offers a full BlackBerry Internet Service (personal edition), as well as a host of support services for customers.

The device is priced at QR2,599 ($714.50), the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
