World’s 'slimmest' watch launched in UAE

Dubai, May 4, 2011

Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, a leading timepiece retailer, has launched Piaget Altiplano, the world’s slimmest automatic watch from the Swiss luxury brand, at its retail destinations in the UAE.

The launch event at Dubai Mall’s Atrium was inaugurated by Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and hosted by Yves Piaget, chairman of Piaget, and Abdulmagied Seddiqi, chairman of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.

With a thickness of 5.25 mm and the world's thinnest automatic movement at 2.35 mm, the ultra-thin Altiplano watch demonstrates to perfection Piaget’s mastery of ultra-thin horology, superior mechanical precision and ingenuity of movement, a statement said.

Piaget has been working since the 1950’s toward the development of ultra-thin timepieces, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
