Abu Dhabi, June 13, 2012
Etisalat, a leading telecom service provider in the region, has launched the Samsung Galaxy SIII, the third generation of Galaxy S smartphone, in the UAE.
Offered on the country’s widest HSPA+ network, the Galaxy SIII is available to Etisalat’s Wasel prepaid and postpaid customers with multiple options to suit their requirements.
Matthew Willsher, chief marketing officer at Etisalat, said, “Etisalat’s line-up of the latest, most popular smart phone devices are well-suited to our customers’ dynamic lifestyles and requirements.”
“Over the years, we have teamed with leading manufacturers from around the world to bring devices that live up to our customers’ expectations. We are delighted once again to introduce the Samsung Galaxy SIII, a 16GB powerhouse that is also available for free with Etisalat’s 4GB data bundle subscriptions.”
Ashraf Fawakherji, general manager of Telecommunications Group at Samsung Gulf Electronics, said, 'Effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the Samsung Galaxy S III is a best in class device that successfully integrates a human centric design with game-changing smartphone technology.
“Complemented with great, value added data packages, our UAE customers will now be able to fully optimize the device's uncompromised performance and enrich their overall smartphone experience.'
The Samsung Galaxy S III packs intuitive features that can recognize the user’s voice, face and intention. Based on the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system, the SIII is fitted with a 4.8-inch HD Super Amoled display; an 8MP back camera (with zero shutter lag); and a 1.9MP front camera.
Wasel prepaid customers can purchase the device on a standalone basis from selected Etisalat business centers and outlets at Dh2,499 ($680) and enjoy free data usage of 500 MB for three months. From the fourth month onward, the data will be available for Dh50.
While Etisalat’s prepaid plans for Galaxy SIII will be launched soon, postpaid customers can subscribe to any of Galaxy SIII voice and data plan options on a one-year contractual basis, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
