LIFX, a wifi-enabled, multi-colour, energy efficient LED light bulb that users can control with a smartphone, has been launched in the UAE.

A tailored iOS and Android app allows users to dim the bulb and select a colour palette of more than 16 million different colours, said a statement from inventor Phil Bosua.

A growing suite of features are also available, from scheduling the bulbs to wake the user up with light, the ability to visualise music with colour and control bulbs remotely from anywhere in the world, he stated.

The LEDs in LIFX bulbs are also rated to last up to 40,000 hours, he added.
