LG unveils 34-inch QHD monitor

Dubai, March 30, 2014

LG Electronics has unveiled its newest IPS 21:9 UltraWide QHD monitor, which will be available in the GCC from April.

The expansive 34-inch monitor takes advantage of 21:9 displays as well as UltraWide QHD resolution (3440 x 1440) and superior colour management features, said a statement.

It features a host of connectivity options such as Thunderbolt 2, which will allow professionals and tech-savvy consumers to tailor the monitor to their specific needs, it said,

Hyound-sei Park, head of IT Business Division at LG, said: “Our 34-inch UltraWide monitor is a remarkably versatile device with exceptional picture quality to help users work smarter and more efficiently.”

“It’s a perfect solution for people working on multimedia projects and computer-aided graphics. Through products like this, LG will continue to expand its offerings to professionals in the creative arts.”

Thunderbolt 2 will enable users to watch and edit raw 4K video while simultaneously transferring data to other devices through a single port. Up to six devices can be daisy-chained together to create an incredibly efficient work station. It will also allow users to connect it to Apple’s new Mac Pro to take advantage of the fastest cable-based connectivity speed currently available.

The model incorporates LG’s 4-screen split and dual link-up functions to let users manipulate and configure the available display space to suit their needs. The monitor supports HDMI and DisplayPort allowing content to be mirrored and transmitted from a range of devices. All this is surrounded by a stylish exterior that employs LG’s immersive Cinema Screen Design and Crystal Float concept.

It also features the reader mode, which will help prevent eye-strain and lowers energy consumption by making the displayed images appear as though they were printed on paper; ‘Flicker-Safe’ which has been certified by TÜV Rhineland as effective in virtually eliminating screen flicker; and the joystick on-screen-display control, which is a user-friendly menu system with the conveniently placed navigation control designed for maximum convenience. - TradeArabia News Service
