Dubai, May 21, 2014
LG Electronics has launched its comprehensive 2014 Ultra HD TV line-up in the GCC.
The collection includes premium models and more affordable variations in screen sizes from 49 to 105 inches, said a statement.
The TV range employs sophisticated upscaling technology that converts HD or full HD content into crisp, near Ultra HD quality, it said.
The ‘True 4K Engine Pro’ eliminates visual errors and supports 4K Motion Estimation Motion Compensation (MEMC) which guarantees minimal motion blur, it added. The 4K HEVC 60p decoders can decode broadcast signals in H.264 and HEVC H.265 in either 30p or 60p.
The latest LG Ultra HD TV’s 3D offer uses Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology to render convincing 3D images with virtually no flicker or crosstalk. The large, high resolution displays provide an exceptionally comfortable, flicker-free 3D viewing experience.
The TVs employ 3840 x 2160 resolution In-Plane Switching (IPS) 4K displays that reproduce exceptionally accurate and vivid colours, said the statement.
Some of the new premium models boast the Ultra Surround sound system developed in collaboration with high-end audio products maker, Harman Kardon.
The webOS Smart TV platform is set to be featured in most of LG Ultra HD TVs release this year and will enhance compatibility between LG’s advanced TVs and other devices and also will make it easier for developers to create applications.
D Y Kim, president of LG Electronics Gulf, said: “LG’s 2014 Ultra HD TV line-up incorporates a range of competitive technologies including IPS 4K Display, 4K 3D+ and the Smart+ TV with web OS.”
“Along with outstanding picture and sound quality, LG’s ULTRA HD TVs provide the ultra-real effects of 4K 3D+ and Smart+TV with the convenience of the webOS proving that it’s all possible with LG, these superior products are certain to deliver many memorable home entertainment experiences,” he said.
Several models from the line-up including the UB9800, UB9500, UB9300 and UB8500, will be launched worldwide during the first half of the year, with more products slated for arrival in the second half, Kim added. - TradeArabia News Service
