Samsung to launch Galaxy Tab S

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S, its thinnest and lightest tablet to date.
The Super Amoled-tablet combines the most advanced display technology with a full range of premium content for an unrivaled entertainment experience, said a statement.
JK Shin, CEO and president of IT and Mobile Division, Samsung, said: “The tablet is becoming a popular personal viewing device for enjoying content, which makes the quality of the display a critical feature.
“With the launch of the Galaxy Tab S, Samsung is setting the industry bar higher for the entire mobile industry. It will provide consumers with a visual and entertainment experience that brings colours to life, beautifully packaged in a sleek and ultra-portable mobile device.”
The device’ WQXGA Super Amoled display delivers more than 90 per cent of Adobe RGB colour coverage and has a 100,000:1 contrast ratio which provides deeper and more realistic images by making blacks darker and whites brighter.
It also features additional Samsung screen technologies including its ‘adaptive display,’ which ensures the best visual experience by intelligent adjusting gamma, saturation and sharpness based on the application being viewed, the colour temperature of the viewing environment and ambient lighting.
The pre-set professional modes – Amoled Cinema and Amoled Photo, lets users manually adjust the display setting for bring, dynamic results for both video and photo content.
The tablets advanced outdoor visibility technology makes on-screen content look bright, natural and east to view.
The Super Amoled technology does not require a backlight, resulting in less consumption of energy compared to LCD displays which maintaining a portable design.
The consumer can enjoy hours of entertainment without having to recharge owing to the device’ longer-lasting batter and ultra-power saving mode.
It also features a variety of content including Samsung’s magazine service ‘Papergarden’; Galaxy Gifts, which includes Marvel Unlimited app and Kindle for Samsung; Google Play, which is Google’s online digital entertainment store; and Netflix, available in HD for the first time for Galaxy users in select countries.
The company also offers form factor and practical accessories including Book Cover, Simple Cover and Bluetooth Keyboard.
The tablet features enhanced productivity and security features that provide users with the ability to multitask, It also features a ‘Multi User Mode,’ where users can create their own personal optimised profile, safe and convenient access with a built-in ‘Fingerprint Scanner’ and a specially designed ‘Kid’s Mode’ with its own dedicated interface and kid-friendly applications.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S will come in a variety of connectivity options: wifi, or wifi and LTE, available in 16/32GB + MicroSD (up to 128GB). Users can also choose between the 10.5-inch and 8.4-inch versions, in Titanium Bronze or Dazzling White.
