371 weapons sold on first day of Adihex

ABU DHABI, September 14, 2014

The 2014 Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (Adihex) has received a very positive response on its first day, revealing sales of up to 371 weapons, amounting to Dh3.5 million ($967709).

Colonel Hamid Al Afrit, head of the Weapons and Explosives Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, and chairman of the Adihex security committee, said: “The security committee members and ADP teams performed their duties before the opening of the Exhibition and during the events with the highest efficiency.  Everyone put forth significant efforts to provide distinguished service that reflects the civilized side of the UAE in general.” He continued by stressing the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Police to provide the finest services  to citizens and visitors of Adihex in the fields of inspection and security operations of the entrance and exit procedures and in the issuance of licensing the purchase of weapons.

Colonel Al Afrit called upon weapon owners to lock their weapons in safe places away from the hands of children. He also urged them to, “Ensure that the weapons are only used by licensed persons who are familiar with the safe uses of firearms and to abide by the security and safety measures during maintenance procedures.” – TradeArabia News Service
