Officials announcing the launch of Al Basta Market

Tamkeen in deal to launch Al Basta Market

MANAMA, December 10, 2014

Bahrain’s labour fund Tamkeen and the kingdom’s Southern Governorate have signed an agreement to launch the third edition of Al Basta Market.

The market is a pioneering initiative for traders to showcase and market their goods to residents of the governorate and Bahrain, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The agreement follows the success of the first two editions of the market, which saw participation from more than 560 traders and attracted tens of thousands of people.

The third edition of the market will take place every Friday and Saturday from December 19 to March 28, 2015.

Tamkeen's backing comes as part of its efforts to support the development of Bahraini enterprises in the private sector.

Its support will enable entrepreneurs and business owners in the area to develop their enterprises.

It will also provide an opportunity for productive families, micro- enterprises, and small and medium enterprises to contribute to the national economy.

The market is part of the Southern Governorate's drive to support the National Initiative for Agricultural Development launched by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and Supreme Council for Women president. - TradeArabia News Service
