Gitex Shopper offers 67pc entry discount to students

DUBAI, October 2, 2015

Gitex Shopper, a leading consumer IT and electronics show in the region, is set to offer an entry discount of 67 per cent for students who pre-book in a group of 50 or more.
The price of a regular entry ticket is Dh30 ($8.1), but school and university students who take advantage of the group-booking discount will pay just Dh10, said a statement.
The eight-day sales extravaganza scheduled to take place from October 3 to 10 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), will offer more than just great entry prices for students, it said.
The 25th anniversary of Gitex Shopper promises new product launches and unbeatable offers on over 35,000 of the latest gadgets, gizmos and top tech devices certain to be on the wish list of student shoppers.
Trixie LohMirmand, senior vice president, the organisers DWTC, said: “There is no consumer more tech savvy than the younger generation.  Not only do they embrace and integrate the latest technological advances into their daily lives, it’s also a key element in their education and learning. The modern education system helps students to access diversity in learning styles, the most up-to-date information, and resources quicker and easier than ever before.
“Technology use allows many more students to be actively thinking about communication, making choices, and executing skills, so it is really important for us to encourage students to visit the show, and benefit from the best deals and choice of products on offer.”
The pre-booking of groups of 50 or more students by their educational institution’s management, will allow the discounted entry price, and will be valid for any one of the eight days the show runs, the statement said.
The institution’s staff members should accompany student groups at all times, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
