SHARJAH, April 7, 2016

Key partners of Expo Centre Sharjah have lauded the growth achieved by the MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show and are planning to scale up their participation in the future.

The MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show, which is under way at Expo Centre until April 9, is celebrating its landmark 40th edition and has become the focal point of the global jewellery industry.

Several senior officials and executives of industry associations and government entities from countries like Hong Kong, Italy, Singapore and Thailand were also impressed with the 40th edition of the show, the high quality and variety of content, superior ambiance, quality visitor turnout and overall show management.

Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, chairman, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Expo Centre Sharjah, said: “Our partners have played a key role in the growth of the MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show. Their participation, which is on the rise with every edition, has given the show the much-appreciated variety and uniqueness. We will continue to work with them to maintain the popularity and success enjoyed by the show.”

Giorgio Aguzzi, vice-president, National Confederation for the Craft Sector and Small and Medium Enterprises (CNA), Italy; Sauro Servadei, of Artex, which organises the Italian Pavilion at the show; and Wings Cheung, general manager, Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association, visited the show and held talks with senior executives of Expo Centre Sharjah.

“I have been a regular visitor since the past 10 years and have seen the show growing in size, content and quality every year. Our participation has also grown over the years and I am happy to note that the Italian Pavilion is hosting 29 exhibitors this time. We also have the Italian Lounge, which has been received well by visitors,” said Aguzzi.

The Italian Lounge is aimed at providing a slice of Italian hospitality to visitors, who can admire the beauty and craftsmanship of jewellery in a relaxed atmosphere.

“The Italian Pavilion has become an integral part of the Show. Our jewellery is known for its stylish design and high-quality craftsmanship, and our pavilion is featuring some prominent jewellers and exclusive designs this time. The participants have been receiving good response and we are expecting more visitors during the weekend,” said Servadei.
