Photography aficionados pose during the Canon #FollowmyfootstepsME campaign in Dubai

Canon unveils new consumer products

DUBAI, May 25, 2016

Ahead of the summer travel period for many local residents, Canon Middle East, a leader in imaging solutions today, has unveiled a stunning collection of new consumer products while celebrating the very best in self-portraiture photography.

The latest collection of products includes hero models such as the EOS 80D and EOS 1300D, as well as Legria models such as the LEGRIA HF G40, LEGRIA HF R78, LEGRIA HF R76 and LEGRIA HF R706.

By means of introducing the new line up, Canon Middle East teamed up with photography professionals and aficionados from across the region to curate an expressive collection of personal photos shot against city and outdoor landscapes.
The #FollowmyfootstepsME campaign saw residents from the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Morocco and Qatar visit stunning locations across Dubai to capture beautiful moments of their journey while also getting insider tips on the latest photography techniques from top photography institute Gulf Photo Plus. The activity concluded with a photography exhibition and competition hosted in the Naif area of Dubai where the photographs clicked by the attendees were displayed for viewing.

“Canon’s brand promise is to help people realise the power of image. The new range of products demonstrates Canon’s unparalleled expertise in imaging and reflects the innovation and uniqueness the company strives for: to provide the best technology to its users,” said  Hendrik Verbrugghe, marketing director, Canon Middle East.

There has been a rising trend of people sharing self portraiture featuring their feet against expressive city backdrops. While some are simply snapping shots of their shoes, others have elevated capturing images of their toes into a true art form, projecting this type of self-portraiture as a representation of their everyday lives.

“The Middle East has one of the highest rates of social media and mobile penetration anywhere in the world. There is also a growing number of ‘real’ people on social channels curating and sharing photography of their lives with hundreds and thousands of followers. We believe that people have changed the way they capture and share photographs, and recognize that to achieve the best quality photographs then the best tools are needed to complement people’s inspiration,” added Verbrugghe.

Canon’s range of connected cameras and camcorders enables people to capture and share quality images and video quickly and easily with wi-fi, NFC and the online gallery irista. - TradeArabia News Service
