Sony offers pre-booking of Bravia OLED TV

MANAMA, June 1, 2017

Sony Middle East and Africa has announced that consumers from Bahrain will be able to make pre-bookings for its 55-inch and 65-inch Bravia OLED TV A1 series at key Sony retailers from June 1 to 30.

The new Bravia OLED TV will be available in stores from July, and consumers who pre-book will receive the Xperia XZ Premium smartphone for free.

The Bravia OLED TV A1 series offers a unique combination of the superior picture quality of OLED powered by Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, the world’s first Acoustic Surface sound system, and an edge-to-edge stand-less form factor.

With over 8 million self-illuminating pixels, the Bravia OLED A1 series brings a significantly enriched visual experience with new black levels, rich and lifelike colour, dynamic contrast, blur-less image and a wide viewing angle.

“The Bravia OLED TV A1 Series will be a new addition to an array of best in class televisions that will expand from 23 models in 2016 to 37 models in 2017, offering customers a wider choice. Sony has over 10 years of OLED experience, and is pleased to introduce the Bravia OLED TV A1series to the Middle East market,” said Shoji Ohama, head of TV Marketing, Sony Middle East and Africa.

“The Bravia OLED TV A1 series offers a completely new visual experience.  The final product is a combination of Sony’s superior picture quality through our proprietary 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, and revolutionary sound from the screen itself – only made possible by Sony’s newly developed Acoustic Surface technology. The TV’s streamlined and minimalistic design truly makes it a technology marvel.”

Taking advantage of the OLED’s backlight-less structure, Sony developed a new Acoustic Surface sound technology which emits superior, powerful sound from the screen itself. Unlike conventional LED where the sound emanates from the bottom or sides, the A1 series enables a fusion of image and sound, with voices appearing to come directly from the characters speaking and explosions coming directly from the screen.

The Acoustic Surface technology makes possible the edge-to-edge design of the A1 series by doing away with conventional speakers usually located to the sides or below the TV. The A1’s design eliminates any visible stand or speakers, leaving nothing to distract from the superior image. The easel support conceals a powerful sub-woofer and cable management system which can be folded in, against the TV, for wall mounting.

The new premium Bravia OLED line of televisions support HDR (High Dynamic Range) which reproduces dramatic contrast with rich, brilliant colour. Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme advanced image engine further improves colour accuracy, contrast and clarity and supports HDR10, HLG , and Dolby Vision™1 for viewing the growing library of HDR content.

These new Bravia OLED televisions are powered by Android TV which brings movies, TV shows and thousands of apps into the home, making it easy to watch broadcast and cable TV, download entertainment, and play Android games directly on your television.

The KD-55A1 Bravia OLED Television is priced at BD1,499.90 ($3,950) while the KD-65A1    model will cost BD1,999.90 ($5,266). – TradeArabia News Service
