Batelco launches Apple Watch Series 5 Cellular

MANAMA, November 2, 2019

Batelco, the leading digital solutions provider in the kingdom, has announced that it is the first and only telecommunications company in the kingdom to introduce the latest Apple Watch Series 5 Cellular in the kingdom.

The fun and interactive launch event took place at the Batelco branch in The Avenues Bahrain and was attended by a large number of attendees led by Batelco customers who received their new watches.

Also present at the launch were several social media influencers including Shaima Rahimi, Ali Sabeel and athlete Shaikha Al Shaiba.

Batelco launched the Apple Watch in both the 40mm and 44mm sizes and in various colours.

The Apple Watch Series 5 is considered to be the ideal choice for those with an active and athletic lifestyle, as the watch allows customers to stay connected on all apps, make and receive calls, directly from Apple Watch, even without an iPhone nearby.

Customers can activate this feature by subscribing to the Cellular service, an embedded SIM card on the Watch carrying the same phone number as the iPhone.

Commenting on the occasion, Maha Abdulrahman, General Manager Consumer Division, said: "We are proud to be the first and only telecommunications company in the kingdom to launch this highly anticipated watch which has unique and practical features in line with the needs of our customers, especially sport lovers."

The Apple Watch Series 5 Cellular will be available at Batelco branches and can also be purchased online at shop.batelco.com.

"We are also pleased to offer this watch with a variety of both Postpaid and Prepaid (SimSim) packages beginning from BD8.2 ($21.6) per month, in order to suit the needs of the majority of our customers," stated Abdulrahman.

“The Cellular service is being offered free of charge for the first six months from the launch date, after which charges of BD1 per month will be applied on top of Batelco’s Mobile Postpaid packages. Prepaid users may avail of the Cellular service by adding a bolt-on package,” she added.-TradeArabia News Service
