Aimex backs Emirates boat show
Abu Dhabi

The Australian International Marine Export Group (Aimex) has indentified Abu Dhabi as a key growth market and is putting it’s weight behind the Emirates Boat Show International to be held in the UAE capital from November 25 to 29.

Emirates Boat Show is being organised by Knotika Holding, a market leader in the regional leisure marine industry and organiser of prominent boat shows in Kuwait and Bahrain.

Aimex, the apex body representing the Australian Marine Export industry, said  its primary purpose is to develop and promote Australia's thriving marine industry to the world, offering a unified voice and enhanced international marketing power.

"Aimed is delighted to partner with Konica to promote their boat shows given the fact that they have on board the knowledge and experience of their general manager Farrakhan Go chin who Aimed members have worked with successfully in the past,” Mary Anne Edwards, chief executive of Aimed, stated.

"Our membership comprises leading recreational and light commercial marine industry companies involved in the design, manufacture, refitting and repair of all types of yachts, pleasure craft and light commercial boats."

"They also include manufacturers of boat equipment and fittings, and firms and organizations involved with marinas and other centers concerned with the storage, servicing, refit and repair of all sizes of leisure craft and many of them have indicated a keen interest in the Emirates Boat Show," she stressed.

Edwards underscored the importance of the Australian Marine industry by highlighting its diversity with 2700 companies generating Dh22 billion turn over while employing 29,000 people. There is a thriving export industry of more than Dh3.5 billion annually.

The event will showcase Abu Dhabi as an emerging leisure marine power house in the GCC reflecting the enormous amount of marine related development and infrastructure currently planned and under construction as well as the love and passion of the people for boating.

Around 200 boats will be on display in the water and onshore at the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club during the boat show, which is expected to attract more than 150 exhibitors.

Visitors will see a range of the latest leisure marine products, from multi-million dollar motor yachts to jet skis, wakeboarding boats and equipment, sailing dinghies and diving gear, marine accessories and electronics. The show will be open to both the trade and the public.-TradeArabia News Service
