Emirates Airlines begins Toronto service

Dubai, October 31, 2007

Emirates Airlines' inaugural Dubai-Toronto flight EK241 arrived in Toronto yesterday (October 30) evening, marking Emirates' first destination in Canada, and the first-ever non-stop service between Dubai and Toronto.

Dignitaries onboard the inaugural flight included: Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and CEO, Emirates Airline and Group; Hassan M I Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Canada; Sara Hradecky, Canadian Ambassador to the UAE; and a delegation of senior Emirates executives.

Emirates has launched two new non-stop flights from Dubai - a three-times-a-week service to Toronto, and a six-a-week service to Ahmedabad, India - expanding its global route network to 97 cities in 61 countries.- TradeArabia News Service
