Emirates Academy makes key appointments

Dubai, March 8, 2008

The Emirates Academy, part of Dubai-based luxury international hospitality group, Jumeirah, has appointment Mike Newnham as head of consulting and training and Shaun Harper as director of professional training and development.

Newnham joins the team at The Emirates Academy from Jumeirah Group’s corporate office, where he previously held the position of chief human resources officer. He has been part of the Jumeirah group for the last eight years and responsible for the development of HR resources, processes and technologies for the group and will bring a wealth of valuable experience to The Emirates Academy.

Harper has been manager of professional training and development at The Emirates Academy since last year, where he has been facilitating and developing professional training courses for all aspects of the service industry as well as managing a team of training consultants.

Harper previously set up his own training and development company in the UK after working for the Hilton group as regional human resources and learning development manager.
