Delta marks 100 days of Kuwait service

Kuwait, February 22, 2009

Delta Air Lines has marked a successful first 100 days of service on its nonstop Kuwait-Atlanta route.

Delta is the only airline to operate nonstop, scheduled service between Kuwait and the southeastern United States and offers around 180 connecting opportunities for passengers flying via Atlanta to destinations throughout the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, according to a statement.

“A late departure from Kuwait means business travellers can do a full day’s work in Kuwait then arrive comfortably in time for a lunch appointment in many US cities the next day,” stated Wissam Razzouk, Delta’s commercial manager for Kuwait.

Delta Air Lines also operates nonstop service between Dubai and Atlanta and Amman and New York’s JFK airport. The airline increased capacity on its non-stop Dubai to Atlanta route to offer a daily service from October 1 last year.

“Thanks to Kuwait’s importance as a transfer hub, Delta’s service is providing an extra channel for export to the United States from the Middle East, India and Pakistan for shipments of commodities including textiles and pharmaceuticals,” added Danita Waterfall-Brizzi, Delta’s director for cargo Middle East.-TradeArabia News Service
