Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has earned praise at the Singapore Airshow 2010, one of the world's top three aviation events, and the biggest aerospace and defence exhibition in the world.

The BAC was part of the dynamic Bahrain stand along with four other Bahrain-based companies - Bahrain Airport Services, Civil Aviation Authority, Gulf Air and Batelco.

The objective was to promote the country as a destination as well as an aviation hub, said a senior BAC official.

"It is great to see Bahrain working hard to make a prominent presence in the global aviation map," said Pacific Aerospace sales and marketing general manager Tood Stephenson.

The airshow offers a business-to-business environment and serves as a global marketplace and networking powerhouse for the world aviation community.

The event consists of aviation leadership forums, static exhibits of aircraft, aviation machinery and exhibition booths.

The BAC shared with the public its mission and vision statements, as well as their timeline for the massive expansion plan that includes a stylish and modern infrastructure, and operational efficiency.

"I was pleased to participate and make the aviation industry aware of BAC. I am proud and happy to have had the opportunity to represent Bahrain along with our partners in this prestigious aviation event," said BAC branding and communications manager Mahmood Qannati.

Amongst the delegates who praised the plan was USP Airlines president Robert Lekites who said "excellent expansion plans, it is great to see an airport with specific focus on infrastructure and operational efficiency."

More than 800 exhibitors from 48 countries participated in the air show. The delegates represented various sectors of the aviation industry, ranging from international airports, component manufacturers, maintenance repair and operations, aircraft manufacturers, defence forces and many more.-TradeArabia News Service
