Marriott opens first hotel in Oman

Marriott International, which has 3,200 lodging properties in 67 countries, recently opened its first hotel in Oman together with Phase 1 of the Mirbat Beach, a luxury tourist destination, in Salalah.
At the opening ceremony, guests were treated to local cultural performances, themed dinner and a tour of the Salalah Marriott Resort.
“With the launch of Salalah Marriott Resort, we are proud to announce the development of the Mirbat Beach project which will be the finest and most opulent address in the region,' said Osama Mariam, CEO, Dhofar Tourism Company SAOG.
Germinal Garcia, general manager, Salalah Marriott Resort, said: “Salalah Marriott Resort will offer guests a complete holiday experience by blending Marriott’s authentic hospitality with exceptional facilities and an unmatched natural landscape.”
The resort offers the finest accommodation, banqueting, and leisure and recreation facilities to suit the needs of discerning travelers seeking a memorable holiday or an incentive meeting, a statement said.
Dining and entertainment options include a casual all-day restaurant, a seafood restaurant, an Arabic café, Dhofar Piano Lounge, Cigar Lounge and an English outlet.
Recreational amenities include an outdoor swimming pool with separate children’s and adult areas, Frankincense Spa by Chavana and an Extra Divers Centre.
The hotel features 237 well-appointed rooms with guests having a choice of scenic beach or mountain views and a choice of staying in the resort’s main building or in surrounding chalets offering studios and one- and two-bedroom configurations, the statement added. – TradeArabia News Service
