BAC outlines airport plans to travel agents

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) highlighted plans for the airport’s expansion at a travel agents’ gathering recently.

More than 120 delegates including members of the Association of Bahrain Travel and Tours Agents (ABTTA) and officials from BAC took part in the event at the Ritz Carlton Hotel and Spa.

Dr Osama Alali, CEO of BAC, illustrated plans to expand and enhance Bahrain International Airport capabilities and transform aviation into a key contributor to the kingdom’s GDP.

It will utilise the latest technologies in airport operations that ensure optimal levels of service quality, he said.
Bahrain Airport Company will build on the airport’s key strengths by maintaining its position as one of the fastest and friendliest airports in the region, he said. It also plans to develop the airport into a world-class facility attracting airlines and carriers from around the world.

“Bahrain Airport Company is here with a mandate to transform the nation’s aviation and travel industry into a key contributor to the kingdom’s economy,” he said.

“These are very exciting times for the nation’s travel industry - we are entering a new era with Bahrain Airport Company putting into action its plans to galvanise Bahrain’s position in the travel and aviation industry,” said Sofyan Almoayed, ABTTA chairman. “We appreciate their efforts and support to the travel agent community including hosting tonight’s event, and we look forward to working with Bahrain Airport Company to achieve this common goal,” Almoayed said. – TradeArabia News Service
