Gulf Air launches Aleppo service

Manama, June 15, 2010

Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air launched its service to the city of Aleppo in Syria today.

The event was attended by Gulf Air’s chief executive Samer Majali, senior management members and various airport staff.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the Syrian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Suleiman Sarra said, “We wholeheartedly welcome Gulf Air expanding its network into the Syrian Arab Republic. Gulf Air’s relationship with Syria began more than two decades ago when it started flying to Damascus in 1988 and I am glad this relationship has grown stronger with the addition of Aleppo.”

In addition to Aleppo, the airline launched services to Alexandria on June 2, and plans to launch services to Madinah on June 17.-TradeArabia News Service
