First Ramada Encore hotel opens in Doha
Doha, January 5, 2011
Wyndham Hotel Group has announced its continued expansion in the Middle East with the opening of Ramada Encore Doha. It is also the first Ramada Encore hotel in the world to be managed by the company.
Wyndham is the world’s largest hotel company based on number of hotels and one of three business units of Wyndham Worldwide.
Situated in the Al-Asmakh area of Doha, less than five kilometres from Doha International Airport, the hotel is the second Wyndham Hotel Group property to open in Qatar’s capital.
“As the economic centre of Qatar, Doha continues to be a rapidly developing city that serves as home to a growing number of companies as well as a rising number of international travelers,” said Michael Poynter, Wyndham Hotel Group senior vice president and managing director, EMEA.
“The addition of this newest hotel not only helps solidify our presence in this important market but will serve as a shining example of the quality found within the Ramada Encore name.”
Owned by the Regency Group, the Ramada Encore Doha is located on Ahmad Bin Mohamad Bin Thani Road and offers 111 contemporary guestrooms with free wired Internet access and all the latest amenities.
'All guestrooms feature queen or twin beds, a spacious work desk, LCD television with satellite channels, IDD phones, voice mail, mini fridge, tea/coffee maker and an electronic safe. Rooms on non-smoking floors and interconnecting rooms are also available upon request,' Poynter said.
For dining options, the hotel features The Hub, a signature offering of all Ramada Encore properties that includes an international breakfast buffet and a diverse à la carte lunch and dinner menu.
A coffee bar in the lobby serves a mix of hot and cold soft beverages and for those wishing to dine in the comfort of their rooms, 24-hour room service is available.
Business travellers will appreciate access to a 24-hour business centre with print, copy and fax services as well as two meeting rooms equipped with the latest audio and video technologies.
Other amenities include a temperature-controlled indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium and separate male and female saunas. Airport transportation and on-site parking are also available, Poynter added.
