Philippines Embassy warning

Manama, June 1, 2011

Filipinos in Bahrain have been warned to restrict their movements to essential journeys in the wake of possible protests.

A notice on the Philippines Embassy website said demonstrations today could take place at several locations across the country, mainly in villages in Northern Governorate.

'Filipinos are requested to take extra precautions when going out and to refrain from going out if you do not have anything important to do,' it said.

The US and UK Embassies also issued similar advisories this week urging their nationals to avoid large crowds due to possible planned demonstrations following the lifting of the State of National Safety.-TradeArabia News Service
