St Regis Doha appoints new executives

The St Regis Doha has appointed André Jacques as director of sales and marketing and Leslie Garcia-Moica as director of public relations to support its upcoming launch.

Jacques brings over 15 years of international hotel sales experience. He most recently served as director of sales and marketing at The St Regis Washington DC, a statement from the hotel group said.

As part of his achievements, he led the repositioning of the property at Washington following an 18-month multimillion renovation. André first joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts in 2000 as director of sales and marketing of the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas - voted Australia’s best luxury resort in 2005.

Garcia-Moica was previously director of communications at Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa, in the Maldives. As part of the pre-opening team, she played a key role in positioning the resort as an exclusive luxury retreat for well-travelled holidaymakers.

Prior to that, she worked for top luxury properties in Paris, France and Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, the statement said.

“The build-up to the grand opening of The St Regis Doha will be one of the highlights of the social calendar in Qatar in 2012, with a full calendar of events and culinary experiences planned,” Tareq Derbas, general manager of The St. Regis Doha.

The St. Regis Doha is committed to creating a unique destination dining experience for the people of Qatar with 10 distinctive restaurants that will range from modern and glamorous to bespoke and elegant, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
