Luxury charter plans services boost
Manama, January 22, 2012
Bahrain-based luxury charter jet company Comlux Middle East is looking to acquire several new planes to further strengthen operations and offer more professional services, its chairman and president said.
'We have on order an Airbus A321 jet, to be delivered next year,' Richard Gaona told reporters on the sidelines of the Bahrain International Airshow at the Sakhir Air Base.
'We also have two Global 600 aircraft to be delivered this year and next year, as also a Global 7000, to be delivered in 2017.'
Gaona said like everyone else, Comlux had encountered a 'very challenging' 2011. 'The worst is possibly behind us and we are all set to grow a lot this year,' he said.
Comlux last year launched the first corporate jet and Gaona revealed the firm was 'very interested' in the VIP version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliner.
'We feel this is a great aircraft from a great company. We would be glad to have it in our fleet in very quick time,' he said.
Gaona also praised the improvement of the air show. 'For this kind of success in only the second edition is a great performance. I am sure this show will go a great distance,' he said.
Comlux launched its Middle East operations in Bahrain two years ago with a VIP-configured Airbus A318 airliner on display.
'We have always been excited with the move to Bahrain since we are now very well-positioned to offer our portfolio of aircraft management and VIP charter services in the region,' said Gaona.
He said the company was well-known for following the highest safety standards and providing quality service. 'From Bahrain, we will only take that image further,' he said.
'With our fleet based in Bahrain, we are more reactive on the charter market demand since it will allow our local customers to charter our VIP aircraft with no positioning costs. This would create competitive charter solutions for the entire Middle East region,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
