Visa rules for Bahrain F1 announced

Bahrain authorities have announced visa norms for Formula One fans arriving in the kingdom to watch the Grand Prix next weekend.
The General Directorate of Nationality, Passport and Residence yesterday said all entry visas issued between April 7 and 21 will be valid for two weeks from the date of first entry, said a report in the Gulf Daily News, our sister newspaper.
It will be considered a visa for multiple entries, and will not be stamped on the passport. However, visitors will have a printed paper which will include the visa approval or invitation letter from the sponsor.
Visitors may obtain Formula One visas on arrival.
They can also make visa arrangements prior to their arrival by logging on to the website or by forwarding a request to the directorate, depending on his/her nationality and type of residence in GCC states.
The visa may be obtained upon arrival for citizens of the following countries - Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Russia, San Marino, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UK, US, Vatican City, and South Korea in addition to South Africa, Panama, Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, Taiwan, Hungary, Cyprus, India, and residents of the GCC states.
To speed up the visa process, visitors may forward a request through
Citizens of other countries will have to provide a sponsor to obtain the visa for Bahrain Grand Prix.
Visas are available for Bahraini commercial companies, and Bahraini nationals only, and therefore parties marketing the tickets should inform their clients outside Bahrain about the need to have a Bahraini sponsor to arrange for visa for the event.
