‘Eid in Dubai’ celebrations start today

An array of entertainment activities including international concerts, a family fair and fireworks on the beach marking Eid Al Adha in Dubai starts today (October 10).
The sixth edition of ‘Eid in Dubai- Eid Al Adha’ celebrations is organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and will run till October 19.
‘Eid in Dubai,’ which is considered the longest Eid celebration in the region, will usher in a time of fun and entertainment across the city, bringing together families and tourists from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds under the theme ‘Eid Al Adha unites us in celebration.’
The city will be sporting a festive ambience to celebrate this special occasion with lights, banners, flags and other decorations.
A display of fireworks will illuminate the night skies over the open beach in Jumeirah, Umm Suqueim 2 daily over the next 10 days. The open beach is also the location of the Beach Family Fair, featuring beach and water-based games and activities for families.
Other events on the first day of ‘Eid in Dubai’ include a concert by Italian-born opera singer Alessandro Safina, Arab Idol Tour concert featuring stars of the popular TV talent show, the Vogue Dubai Fashion Experience at The Dubai Mall, and a show by Irish comedian and radio host Jason Byrne.
‘Dubai 24 Hours,’ a non-stop shopping initiative at selected malls and souqs all over Dubai also begins and features holiday shopping deals for families and tourists.
In addition to special offers and promotions, shopping malls also plan to organise a diverse range of activities for their visitors over the celebration period, which include solo musicians, clowns and stilt walkers. - TradeArabia News Service
