Emirates A380 'diverted after engine problem'

Dubai, October 29, 2013

An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800, flying from  New York to Dubai, was diverted to Kuwait when one of its engines developed some technical problems recently, a report said.

The EK-202 flight which departed from New York's JFK airport on October 25 to Dubai was flying over the Atlantic Ocean when the crew needed to shut down one of the engines, said the Aviation Herald report. The aircraft continued in the general direction towards its destination but diverted to Kuwait where the aircraft landed safely, it said.

A replacement Airbus A380-800 was dispatched to Kuwait and brought passengers to Dubai, the report said.
