Emirates launches longest A380 flight

Dubai, December 3, 2013

Dubai-based Emirates airline has launched its longest 380 flight to Los Angeles.

The 16 hours and 20 minutes double-decker flight crossed the Russian Federation, the North Pole and Eastern Canada, to touch down in Los Angeles, becoming the world’s longest service in operation, said a senior official.

“Bringing the glamorous A380 set of wings to the City of Angels seemed like a natural fit as this aircraft mirrors the luxury of the Hollywood lifestyle,” said Hubert Frach, Emirates’ divisional senior VP, Commercial Operations West.

The flight features two onboard shower spas for the first class passengers and an onboard lounge for first and business class travellers.

Passengers in all cabins have access to Wifi, 1,500 channels of in-flight entertainment and gourmet-chef prepared meals, served by highly trained, multi-lingual cabin crew.

Premium passengers can also enjoy dedicated lounges and chauffeur-drive transfers at many destinations across Emirates’ network.

The double-decker has 14 first class private suites, 76 lie-flat beds in business class and 399 spacious seats in economy class. - TradeArabia News Service
