Forum focus on special needs travellers
Amman, January 9, 2014
Measures to facilitate the accessibility of destinations such as Jordan and the Mena region for special needs travellers were discussed at a key forum recently.
The inaugural Mena-Enat (Euro-Arab) Forum- Expo was held at Doubletree by Hilton Aqaba, with a special performance by 2011 X Factor singer Emmanuel Kelly, who was also a victim of chemical warfare and familiar with the importance of special needs facilities.
Entitled ‘Euro-Arab co-operation for sustainable accessible destinations: Tourism for All,’ the event brought together key players in the hospitality sector to raise awareness on equal opportunities, highlighting the benefits of integrating accessible tourism in the region.
It also established a regional Euro-Arab partnership platform for co-ordination and co-operation, exchanging leading-edge policies and practices.
Michel Lansen, general manager of DoubleTree, said: “We are thrilled to host the first Mena-Enat (Euro-Arab) Forum-Expo with its delegation to enable “Tourism For All.” Double Tree by Hilton Aqaba has adapted facilities for travellers with specific access requirements and we are proud to have had an opportunity to also present Emmanuel Kelly.” - TradeArabia News Service
