Turkish Airlines appoints GM in Kuwait

Turkish Airlines has announced the appointment of Sami Aydogan as general manager of the global carrier’s operations in Kuwait.

Aydogan will be responsible for developing and leading Turkish Airlines growth strategy in the country with a focus on operations, sales and marketing.

His predecessor, Adem Ceylan, has taken on the position of vice president of Marketing & Sales for Turkish Airlines in Middle East & Cyprus, and in Kuwait where passenger traffic grew by over 35 per cent last year compared to 2012.

A ceremony was held at JW Marriott Hotel in Kuwait to welcome Aydogan in his new role as general manager for Turkish Airlines operations in Kuwait and to celebrate achievements of the global carrier with Ceylan, local partners, corporate customers and the community.

Zekeriya Kurucam, deputy general manager for Turkish Airlines in Kuwait said: “We are proud of our colleagues’ accomplishments and are delighted that Aydogan will be spearheading our operations in Kuwait, a country where our airline is increasingly popular amongst the Kuwaiti community for the connections we offer to every corner of the globe.”

Having begun his career with Turkish Airlines in 2010 as a specialist in marketing and sales for the middle Europe division Aydogan has held various positions with Turkey’s national carrier over the last three years.

Turkish Airlines offers three flights daily from Kuwait City to Istanbul connecting Kuwaitis to more countries than any other airline with 243 destinations across 104 countries, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
