Oman Air picks Swiss MRO solution

Oman Air, the Sultanate's national carrier, said it has selected (Amos) MRO software solution from a Swiss-AS, a unit of Swiss International Air Lines, to replace its legacy system.
The implementation project in Muscat is expected to take ten months and designated AMOS users will be made familiar with the new MRO software via e-learning and classic classroom training, according to a statement from Oman Air.
The national airline said AMOS fully met its need to benefit from hitech developments and industry benchmarks in MRO software, to sustain and extend its competitive advantage.
Oman Air has an open and flexible approach to re-engineering its processes in accordance with proven aviation best-practices, which will be implemented with AMOS, remarked CEO Wayne Pearce
"Operational effectiveness and cost reduction are two vital areas for Oman Air and we are pleased to be adopting the highly-regarded Swiss-AS AMOS MRO software,which will help us to manage our maintenance, engineering and logistics requirements," he noted.
The goal of implementation is sustainable cost reduction, as well as an improvement of operational efficiency and the effectiveness of the airline’s engineering division, he added.
On the Oman Air project, Ronald Schaeuffele, the CEO of Swiss-AS said: "During the extensive evaluation period we have got to know the team of Oman Air as very friendly and reliable business partners and we are looking forward to starting the project."-TradeArabia NEws Service
