Gulf Air wins top IT award

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, was recognized among the top 50 organisations in the Middle East for its achievements in information technology at the ‘CIO 50 Awards and Forum 2014’ held in Dubai recently.  

The awards honoured the airline for introducing advanced and innovative technologies aimed at improving the carrier’s business efficiency, optimising business processes and fostering collaboration, thereby adding value to passengers, said a statement.

The event, which was hosted and organised by Computer New Middle East Magazine (CNME) and Corporate Publishing International (CPI), attracted over 100 senior IT experts and chief information officers from across the Middle East to recognise organisations that have accomplished commendable work in the IT field.

Dr Jassim Haji, director of IT, said: “Gulf Air’s steadfast commitment and focus on information technology excellence as a key business enabler is reflected in our receiving this prestigious award for the third consecutive year.
