Emirates to fly thrice to Jordan

Dubai, March 26, 2014

Dubai national carrier Emirates has announced plans to add a third daily flight to Jordan starting from August 1 amid growing demand for the service.

This represents a further ramping up of services by Emirates to Amman after its flights to Jordan went double daily in October 2012.

“This is a direct response to very healthy demand for our services. With a triple daily service, we will be able to provide even greater convenience to passengers flying to and from Jordan and throughout the rest of our network,” remarked Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Emirates’ divisional senior VP (Commercial Operations Centre).

The new flight EK 905 will depart Dubai at 9.55pm and arrive in Amman at 11.59pm. On return, the flight, EK 906, will take off from Amman at 3.45am and touch down in Dubai at 7.45am.

A combination of Boeing 777 and Airbus A330-200 aircraft will be used, as with the existing operation, said a statement from the Dubai carrier.

Jordan is one of the most popular tourism destinations in the Middle East and amongst the airline’s earliest routes, launching in 1986. In 2011, Emirates marked 25 years of service to Amman.

Tourists come from far and wide to see Jordan’s world-renowned attractions such as Petra and the Dead Sea, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
