RJ cancels Tripoli flight; monitors situation

Royal Jordanian airline cancelled its scheduled flight to Libyan capital Tripoli today following the kidnapping of Jordan's ambassador to Libya, Fawaz Al Etan.

The airline said it is closely monitoring the situation in Libya following the kidnapping.

"The airline will take an appropriate decision with regard to its operations to Libya. RJ is in touch with the concerned parties in Jordan and Libya and is following up on all developments in this regard, in order to take a decision regarding its flights to Tripoli, Benghazi and Misrata," it said in a statement.

RJ currently operates 10 weekly flights to Tripoli, four to Benghazi and two to Misrata.

Passengers flying to and from Libya were requested to contact RJ’s call centre at 00962 6 5100000 for any queries regarding the flight schedule to Libya, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
