Sanad Travel named Pegasus agent in Bahrain

Manama, April 17, 2014

Sanad Travel and Tourism, a leading travel agent in Bahrain, has signed a General Sales Agent (GSA) agreement with Turkey-based LCC Pegasus Airlines appointing it as the representative of the airline.

Under this agreement, Sanad Travel will provide Pegasus Airlines with full sales and marketing services, as well as customer support, ticketing and administrative facilities.

The first scheduled flight between Bahrain and Istanbul is expected to take off from the Bahrain International Airport on June 12. With fares starting from BHD 40 ($105.5)  (all inclusive), regular scheduled flights will depart late evenings from Bahrain International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to Istanbul  Sabiha Gokcen Airport.

“Signing of the General Sales Agent agreement with Pegasus Airlines is a strategic milestone for our company,” said Salman Sanad, managing director of Sanad Travel and Tourism.

“Sanad Travel has always taken the leading role to adapt to an ever-changing dynamic and challenging industry while guaranteeing our customers with premium quality services.  We are confident that this agreement will play a key role in further spurring tourism and bolstering business links between Bahrain and the rest of the world and at the same time demonstrate our commitment to country’s aviation sector.”

Mohammed Khalil, vice president of Commercial and Marketing at Bahrain Airport Company said: “We are looking forward to receiving Pegasus Airlines at Bahrain International Airport, especially as it is considered a leading low cost carrier in Turkey and has been granted the title of ‘Fastest Growing Airline in Europe’ for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012.”

“Bahrain will become Pegasus Airline’s eighth destination in the Middle East and we expect that this will further increase the passenger traffic between Turkey and the Kingdom of Bahrain.  In 2012, passenger traffic between Turkey and Bahrain witnessed exceptional growth of approximately 22 per cent and in 2013 a growth of 8 per cent at over 100,000 total passengers, we expect this growth to continue in 2014.

“Pegasus Airlines’ anticipated service to the Kingdom of Bahrain will surely facilitate additional tourism and business activities between the two countries and help bolster the strong relationship we share, a relationship which we are keen on developing further in the future.” he added.

Bahrain will now connect to 11 destinations within Turkey which include: Adana, Izmir, Bodrum, Antalya, Diyarbakir, Dalaman, Ankara, Elaziğ, Hatay, Trabzon Van, and 33 international destinations across major European cities such as Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Paris and London to name a few. – TradeArabia News Service
