SR Technics set to redefine art of luxury travel

Zurich, May 6, 2014

By Nick Horne

Zurich-based SR Technics, a world leader aviation technical services, aims to redefine the art of luxury travel with the unveiling of a new VIP aircraft interiors product.

The product, coming from SR Technics’ VIP Aircraft Services, will be officially launched at the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) to be held from May 20 – 22.

“The aviation industry has been conservative in the modernisation of private aircraft design,” said Eric Jan, head of VIP interior design at SR Technics, at a pre-Ebace briefing.

“From the organisation of space to the construction of the interior, VIP aircraft have traditionally been set up to a standard layout. We believe that we have created a layout and concept that enables owners to make 100 per cent use of the useable space, 100 per cent of the time.”

SR Technics are owned by Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Development Company

SR Technics’ design enables optimisation and flexibility of space. The company promises significant reduction in green completion times for A319 and B737 VIP aircraft by up to a third compared to the industry norm.

“It’s time to rethink narrow body interiors as they are not suited to today’s needs. We’re therefore rewriting the rules for VIP completions,” continued Jan. “We’re reconsidering all aspects of daily life, bringing together lifestyle, design and technology to create a modern VIP aircraft interior which breaks with traditionalism. Through the use of innovative materials and luxury finishes, we are creating a cosy ambiance that enables the traveller to relax and unwind on board arriving at their destination fully refreshed.”

“As part of the design concept the galley and kitchen areas on the aircraft become the heart of on-board life accessible to crew and passengers. The design of the cabin offers flexibility and a comfortable, relaxed setting.”

A spectacularly large and welcoming entrance, long sightlines through the aircraft as well as filtered and adaptive light combine to further enhance the enjoyment of a flight. To meet individual tastes the cabin design is offered in three styles -- Classic, Elegant and Modern.

Besides being able to respond to change, as per the owner’s requests, all interiors aspects are freestanding, ensuring that any adaptations can be made at lower cost.

As a Swiss company, quality and punctuality are second nature to the team.  In VIP projects every detail is important, from the development of an individual interior to high-end engineering elements through to handcrafted exclusive furniture.

“We are redefining the art of travel,” concluded Jan.  –TradeArabia News Service
