Dubai 'world's best for shopping, hotels'
, May 28, 2014
Dubai, home to a number of retail projects including the world’s largest shopping centre, Dubai Mall, has been ranked best in the world for hotels and shopping, according to survey by travel website, TripAdvisor.
Dubai finished ahead of Cancun and Bangkok in the best hotels category and ahead of New York and London for shopping in TripAdvisor’s recently published second annual Cities Survey, said a Gulf News report.
In its review, TripAdvisor had described Dubai as “a cosmopolitan oasis, a futuristic cityscape that towers over the Arabian Desert,” the report stated.
Dubai is also home to some of the most luxurious hotels including The Atlantis and the Burj Al Arab. In 2013, more than 11 million visitors had checked into hotels across the emirate.
Last week, Dubai ranked 16th in PwC’s 'Cities of Opportunity' study that measured the economy and culture of 30 urban cities.
