Wyndham unveils big Turkey expansion plans

Manama, June 9, 2014

Wyndham Hotel Group, one of the largest hotel companies with 7,500 hotels across the globe, is set to open three new properties in Turkey as part of its regional expansion strategy.

Part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, the hospitality group has hotels under the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts (four hotels), TRYP by Wyndham (two hotels) and Ramada (24 hotels) brands, said the company statement.

Its 30 properties in Turkey firmly establish the company as the market leader by number of hotels open and operating in the country.

The latest properties to join Wyndham Hotel Group in Turkey include Wyndham Istanbul Old City, Ramada Usak and Ramada Resort Akbuk. Collectively, the hotels add 740 rooms to Wyndham Hotel Group’s existing 4,500–strong room count in the country.

“I’m thrilled to maintain our rapid expansion in Turkey, which is a strategic growth market for us,” remarked Rui Barros, Wyndham Hotel Group’s senior VP and managing director, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean.

“We look forward to continuing meaningful relationships with both developers and consumers, who are more and more recognising the value of our powerful global brands,” he added.

Located in the heart of the old town, Wyndham Istanbul Old City offers 265 guest rooms as well as three food and beverage outlets, an indoor swimming pool and spa complex.

Housed within an historic building, Wyndham Istanbul Old City effortlessly combines traditional architecture with opulent luxury, and is within walking distance of some of the city’s main sights, said the company statement.

In contrast, Ramada Usak and Ramada Resort Akbuk are both purpose-built, new-construction properties. With 124 elegant guest rooms and four meeting rooms, Ramada Usak is located within walking distance of the city centre and just four miles from Usak airport.

Ramada Resort Akbuk combines the convenience of a city centre location, with the facilities of a resort, offering 364 guest rooms and suites, extensive swimming pool complex with water slides, spa, fitness area and access to a private beach.-TradeArabia News Service
