Bahrain Duty Free posts 20pc sale growth

Airport retailer Bahrain Duty Free has registered strong results for the period from January to May with a 20 per cent jump in sales at its new arrival stores.
 
The airport retailer said the growth is impressive as it come following four months of trading in the new arrivals store.

Bahrain Duty Free said the 20 per cent jump in sales has been recorded for the store comparing favourably to a passenger increase of 4.3 per cent for the same period.

General manager Fadi Allam said the store is also the collection point for the Bahrain Duty Free Shop & Collect service; which is currently being upgraded.

"Shop & Collect is an important initiative for Bahrain Duty Free as it allows our customers to travel without the worries of taking their purchases with them, and through our upgrade programme it will be even easier for our customers to avail of this service," he added.

Meanwhile, Bahrain Duty Free said it has upgraded its Swarovski jewellery store with a 40 sq m retail offering in their departures outlet at Bahrain International Airport.

The Swarovski area is located immediately adjacent to the Perfumery & Cosmetics department which is witnessing strong growth in 2014; and is on one of the busier passenger walkways within the main departures outlet, stated Allam

“This is the start of an exciting journey for us at Bahrain Duty Free as we have a number of projects scheduled to further enhance the offering to our customers in the coming 12 months,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
