ABU DHABI, September 6, 2014

Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau, a dedicated entity of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has signed on as Host Destination Partner for the upcoming Power-Gen Middle East (PGME) and co-located WaterWorld Middle East (WWME) conference and exhibitions.

The two events will be held in the UAE capital from October 12 to 14 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The 4,000 attendees from over 65 countries, who are set to attend the key power and water event, will also benefit from UAE national carrier Etihad Airways which will be the official airline partner.

The new partnership offers all visitors, exhibitors and conference delegates a 10 per cent discount on First, Business and Economy class round-trip tickets on Etihad Airways’ operated flights.

“The support of these two prominent organisations is integral to hosting a successful global event here in Abu Dhabi,” said Nigel Blackaby, the event director of PGME.

“The value we place on such partnerships demonstrates our commitment to Abu Dhabi’s growth and sustainability and fosters Abu Dhabi’s position as an incubator for dialogue and solutions for industries vital to regional and international economies,” he noted.

The organizers of PGME and WWME have called upon the delegates to register before the Early Bird deadline of September 12 to secure preferred conference fees, to receive maximum benefit from the partnership with Etihad Airways, and have access to the popular technical tours.

Delegates that meet the Early Bird deadline will have an opportunity to tour two of Abu Dhabi’s most important engineering projects for power generation: the Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf Repair Facility, a modern gas turbine repair facility, and Masdar City, the world’s most sustainable eco-city. Both tours will be held on October 11.

At PGME, delegates will benefit from the over  150  regional and international experts addressing the current power challenges, with informative presentations and panel discussions that explore the latest trends, technologies and developments, said the organisers.

Once such expert, Owais Khan, the business development manager at Wärtsilä Corporation, Power Plants, who will speak about the “Best Way of Savings for Middle East Utilities”, said: "Power-Gen Middle East is the biggest seminar for the power sector attended by people from all sectors of the industry, including engineers, planners, and financial experts from both the public and private sectors."

"This platform will be the most appropriate stage to table the proposition of bringing flexibility to the right audience," he added.

Power experts Arno Stein, the head of Product Promotion Gas, Alstom Switzerland, Dhanuskodi Sundaravadivelu, the senior VP at Mitsusbishi-Hitachi Power System (MHPS), India and Mar Thomas Eisenmann, VP of Durag data systems GmbH, will also be presenting abstracts and speaking on panels during the conference.-TradeArabia News Service
