Bahrain airport launches online survey to boost service

MANAMA, September 20, 2014

The Bahrain Ministry of Transportation and Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) have jointly launched an online passenger survey to gauge passengers' satisfaction levels with facilities and services provided at the kingdom' airport.

The survey invites the public’s feedback and opinions on the type of services, facilities and overall conveniences they would like to experience when travelling through the airport.

Effective from today (September 20), the passenger survey will be available on the BAC website: www.bahrainairport.com/en/survey for one month.

It is part of a series of planned initiatives aimed at improving passenger satisfaction and boosting service quality at Bahrain International Airport in line with the Kingdom’s vision of developing it into a world-class facility and further strengthening its competitive position as a regional aviation hub.

Earlier this month, the BAC launched ‘HappyOrNot’ kiosks at the departure and arrival halls to gauge passengers’ satisfaction levels with facilities and services provided the airport.

The ‘HappyOrNot’ kiosks are a customer-friendly tool that capture feedback from passengers, focusing on areas such as shopping experience, food and beverage, efficiency of check-in and immigration services as well as general cleanliness and up-keep of communal areas.

Commenting on the online initiative, Minister of Transportation and acting CEO of the Economic Development Board Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed said the survey marked its commitment to building a new airport terminal that caters to the requirements of the users.

"As we work towards achieving key milestones in the project which will be announced later this year, we are keen to hear the opinions of passengers so that we can offer services and facilities that match the expectations of a global traveller," he explained.

The online survey offers the public an opportunity to voice their opinion on the nature of facilities and amenities they would like to see at the Bahrain airport’s new terminal that will ultimately help improve their travel experience.

The survey may be submitted anonymously and will be used as a reference point when introducing key initiatives to enhance service excellence and provide passengers with superior levels of comfort within a friendly and efficient environment.

Commenting on the initiative, BAC chief executive Mohamed Al Binfalah, said: "We are focused on establishing a modern, friendly and efficient world-class entry-point into Bahrain that reflects the warm hospitality of its people and the long-standing aviation heritage that makes this country proud."

"The airport modernisation initiative is a flagship development for the country as a whole and we want to make sure that it is inspired by the people of Bahrain and that they are an integral part of its development process," he added.

The BAC said a steering committee representing all relevant stakeholders has been set up to guide the airport modernisation initiative.

The programme falls under the supervision of MoT, represented by BAC, which is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services.

This is set to improve Bahrain airport’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of airlines and other stakeholders, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
