Hamad Mohamed Al-Harthy, Oman Air's new country manager

Oman Air appoints new country manager

MUSCAT, September 29, 2014

Oman Air, the national airline of the sultanate, has appointed Hamad Mohamed Al-Harthy as its new country manager for Oman.

Al-Harthy, a science graduate of Sultan Qaboos University, developed his career as an aviation professional since joining Oman Air as a management trainee in 2002. He was then appointed to the role of sales executive in Muscat, before being promoted to district sales manager in Saudi Arabia, followed by Oman, and finally rising to country manager in India.

Abdulrahaman Al-Busaidy, Oman Air’s chief operating officer, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Hamad to the role of country manager for Oman, where his experience and expertise will prove invaluable as Oman Air enters its next phase of ambitious expansion.”

In his new role, Al-Harthy will be responsible for increasing sales in Oman, in line with the airline’s plan of expanding its international network of destinations, which will be facilitated by the arrival of the 24 new aircraft later this year.

“Furthermore, the forthcoming opening of the new Muscat International Airport and a number of regional airports will enable Oman Air to expand its domestic services. This process started with the increase in flights between Muscat and Salalah, and the launch earlier this year of a new scheduled service between Muscat and Duqm,” said Al-Busaidy. – TradeArabia News Service
