Officials at the ribbon-cutting ceremony

Etihad inaugurates San Francisco flight

ABU DHABI, November 20, 2014

Etihad Airways has launched a daily non-stop service from the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi to San Francisco in the US.

The inaugural Fight EY183 touched down at San Francisco International Airport on Tuesday night, marking the start of its new non-stop daily service to a fifth destination in the US.

Representatives from the diplomatic community, including Abdulla Alsaboosi, consul general of the UAE, as well as members of the management teams of Etihad and the San Francisco International Airport, participated in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the departure and arrival gate. Guests on-board the inaugural flight were also presented with special commemorative certificates.

San Francisco, a global tourism and business centre, is another strong addition to Etihad’s growing US network and provides the first direct link between Abu Dhabi and Northern California.

The launch is another example of the successful partnership between Etihad Airways and Jet Airways with the route operated using a Jet Airways’ Boeing 777-300ER aircraft through a lease agreement. The flights will have a combination of Etihad Airways and Jet Airways cabin crew on-board. – TradeArabia News Service
