Qatar set to welcome 2015 with new developments

Qatar is once again set to raise the bar with new luxury offerings that will place the country in the spotlight - from leading restaurants to opulent hotels, rapidly enhancing its global reputation as the fast-emerging luxury tourist destination.

Through the year, Qatar has witnessed numerous developments in the hospitality sector, contributing to Qatar’s multitude of offerings. Listed below are a few developments through 2014:

Doha presents the world’s largest Nobu: High-end dining in the Middle East is no more apparent that with the opening of the world’s largest Nobu in Doha.

Four Seasons Hotel has partnered with Nobuyuki Matsuhisa to open an outpost of the world renowned seafood and sushi restaurant. The 26,000 sq foot restaurant, designed by architect David Rockwell, will feature three floors with both indoor and outdoor seating and panoramic views over the Arabian Gulf.

Although offering many of the brand’s signature dishes such as yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, the menu will also feature new creations using local ingredients and exotic spices such as black-streaked monocle bream fresh from the Arabian Gulf.

Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara: Hidden away in true private Arabian luxury, on its own exclusive island, is the latest offering from the Anantara brand - Banana Island Resort.

Welcoming guests from January 2, 2015, the resort will comprise a 96-room hotel, as well as 34 two- and three-bedroom poolside villas. Additionally, there are 11 overwater-style villas, built on stilts above water for those guests looking for a truly deluxe over water experience.

Amenities include a nine-hole golf putting course, extensive water sport activities, and a family entertainment centre featuring a 10 pin bowling alley and luxury cinema. The property will also feature the Anantara Signature Spa, their first wellness centre in the Middle East.

Kempinski Hotels launches Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl, Doha: With its imminent opening planned, Kempinski Hotels has partnered with Alfardan Hospitality to launch Marsa Malaz Kempinski.

This luxury development is on its own secluded island within The Pearl - Qatar and is the first ultra-luxury hotel in Doha’s waterfront location. The hotel concept blends Arabian hospitality with Venetian influenced architecture. The façade and the interiors are set to make the hotel a truly iconic destination for visitors. – TradeArabia News Service
