Dubai and Istanbul are the leading holiday spots for Kuwaitis looking to travel during the upcoming Spring break, major tourism agencies said.

The two cities offer touristic attractions and entertainment facilities, aside from affordable airline ticket prices during the period running until January 24 due to enhanced competition between travel agencies, the firms told Kuwait News Agency (Kuna).

Tourism from Kuwait to Egypt, Lebanon and Syria increased lately, they added.

Besides the visa-free entry to Dubai and Istanbul, various offers by travel agenesis and the reasonable hotel charges were the top motivators, Mohammad Al-Tasabahji, director of a tourism and travel agency was quoted as saying by Kuna.

Travel turnout on European cities is very weak, due to the cold weather, yet Kuwaitis still travel to Coming to Europe, London was still a top destination for Kuwaitis, followed by Munich, Barcelona and Madrid, he added.

Malaysia and Thailand ranked among the top two travel destinations in Eastern Asia for Kuwaitis, he noted.
