Al Mohanna ... boosting the Egyptian connection.

Flynas to fly Riyadh-Cairo daily

RIYADH, March 15, 2015

Flynas, Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, will begin operating daily flights from Riyadh to Cairo, Egypt starting April 29.

The flights will employ A320 aircraft whose 164 seats will be divided into economy and business class seating.

“Flynas has put great effort into expanding services and destinations both domestically and internationally,” said Bander Al Mohanna, CEO of NAS Holding.

“Given the proximity of Egypt to Saudi Arabia and the number of Egyptians working in the Kingdom, this new connection between Riyadh and Cairo is a logical addition to our schedule and will greatly benefit both the flying public and Flynas.”

The airline began flights between Jeddah and Cairo in June 2014, making the Egyptian capital Flynas’s seventh destination in Egypt, in addition to Alexandria, Assiut, Sohag, Luxor, Sharm El Sheikh and Aswan, making the airline one of the biggest regional players serving Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

While trade ties between the two countries have grown from strength to strength in recent years, more than one million Egyptians travel to Saudi Arabia annually on pilgrimages for Hajj and Umrah.

In addition, Saudi Arabia is home to nearly two million Egyptians who live and work in the Kingdom across a number of different sectors. Egypt in turn continues to be popular among Saudis, from both a tourism perspective and as a higher education destination for students. – TradeArabia News Service
