Ascott names new Gulf sales and marketing director

DUBAI, March 17, 2015

The Ascott Limited,  a leading serviced residence owner-operator, has appointed Shashi Shetty as the director of sales and marketing for the GCC region.

Shetty’s has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry across the region. Her previous roles included group sales and operations manager at the Ramee Group of Hotels and Resorts Dubai, group director sales and marketing, Grand Midwest Hotel Apartments Dubai and sales and marketing director, Fraser Suites Dubai.

“It is a source of great pride for me to have the opportunity to work with The Ascott Limited. The hospitality sector has been growing rapidly in the GCC, making it one of the most competitive in the world. With over a decade of experience in the region, I welcome this new challenge as Ascott grows even further throughout the Middle East,” said Shetty.

Singapore-based Ascott is opening seven properties across Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE in the next two years.

Globally, The Ascott Limited aims to achieve a target of 40,000 apartment units worldwide by year end, and 80,000 units by 2020. Ascott will continue to expand its presence in key cities in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, exploring new markets with strong potential opportunities for serviced apartments, the company said.
