ATDD highlights importance of Emiratis in the tourism sector

Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) organised a workshop, in cooperation with Absher Initiative; a multi-tasked programme to help Emiratis find jobs in the private sector, on the importance of involving UAE nationals in the emirate's tourism sector.
 
The workshop, presented by Ahmed Al Khouri, a senior official at Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, was attended by ATDD general manager Faisal Al Nuaimi, senior ATDD officials and general managers and human resources managers at a number of hotel establishments in Ajman.
 
During the workshop, Al Nuaimi said that upon directives from HH Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, the ATDD shall work on attracting UAE citizens to work in the hospitality sector in the emirate.
 
A working plan was developed in coordination with hospitality sector representatives to probe ways to implement a localisation program of the sector.
 
The Absher initiative was launched to enhance the participation of UAE citizens in the labour market, in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. It provides the foundation to employ UAE citizens in accordance with UAE Vision 2021. – TradeArabia News Service
